After this I will go back to the raised platform and repeat the same lines that were said at the beginning of the scene while moving across the raised platforms to emphasise the presence of Gregor himself. After this, I will go back to the same place I was stood before I moved before coming forward and creating the picture described by Greta with the two other cast members sat on their stools. After the characters perform their lines about Gregor turning into a bug, I will repeat them and walk over as they create the insect and will join the back as the highest legs. As these climax and the lights change, I’ll walk over to the raised platform at the back and stand proudly as the other characters walk on and change into their gestus. ![]() ![]() I will now start on stage as the audience walk in, making a tick-tocking noise that will be heard constantly throughout the piece, whether that’s through a character making the noise or a recorded sound. The set of the piece consists of three stools for each family member apart from Gregor, and a series of raised platforms and a cage that will act as Gregor’s room. This means that the first scene has been adapted. ![]() However, to give the character a more sinister and frightening undertone, we’ve also made the character the narrator of the story. Since casting the play for performance, I’ve been cast as the lodger.
